Trained, certified therapy dogs provide companionship to emerging readers as they earn a free book and bookmark. Everyone is welcome to read to the dogs. Stay for a performance at 7 p.m.! 

A 15-minute story and song program for newborns to three-year-olds, followed by a 45-minute playtime. 

Arts, movement, and music for youth and their caregivers at the Downtown Library. This program is geared to pre-K to second graders.

Each week this summer we show a different classic Muppets or Jim Henson film. Join us and your favorite Jim Henson creations for a summer of adventure, mystery, and laughs. This week: "The Great Muppet Caper" (1981).

Are you learning English and new to computers? This beginner-friendly class is designed for adults who are building both their English and their basic computer skills.

Purchase new and gently used books from the Friends of the Cedar Rapids Public Library during Downtown Cedar Rapids Farmers Markets. Browse the books in front of the Downtown Library while shopping the market.

Choose from several animal patterns and make a beaded animal that can be used as a charm. The charm will use small seed beads and wire and will require hand dexterity. Registration is required.
