Request a Loan from Another Library

If an item you are seeking is not available at any library in the Metro Library Network, you may suggest the library purchase it by completing a Purchase Suggestion form.

We also may be able to get it from another library through Interlibrary Loan.

  • Go to the catalog.
  • Log in with your library card number and pin.
  • Search for an item.
  • If we do not have it, you will see the message, “No matches were found in the Metro Library Network. Click here to search and request an interlibrary loan (fees may apply).”
  • Click on the link. The catalog will search the State of Iowa’s online holdings (SILO) and allow you to place a hold on the title that you are looking for.
  • If you need assistance, please call the library at (319) 261-7323 or email
