Books by Mail

Our Books By Mail and Books by Delivery programs are for patrons who are not able to visit the library because of a temporary or permanent disability.

There is no charge for these programs but they do have limited capacity and patrons may be waitlisted. 

Best for patrons who can return items on their own

• Library staff help select items you will enjoy
• Materials are mailed directly to your home
• You return items to the library or a library return box at a participating Hy-Vee
• Ideal for smaller or occasional deliveries

Best for patrons who need at-home delivery

• Library staff help choose your materials
• A friendly library volunteer delivers items to your home
• Delivery is weekly or every other week
• The volunteer also picks up returned items
• Offers conversation, connection, and community
• This program has limited availability, so patrons may be asked to wait. Every effort will be made to accommodate patrons as quickly as possible.
