This family-friendly fashion show features local creatives and designers from around Iowa. Mingling and morsels open the evening, with the show starting at 5:30 pm.

Arts, movement, and music for youth and their caregivers. This program is geared to pre-K to second graders. 

Stuck in a reading funk? Looking to try a new genre or author? Get recommendations and feast on the first pages of a fresh selection. Come with an open mind and leave with new books for your TBR.

Join us for a fun-filled story time for children ages 2-5. This high-energy story time features stories, songs, parachute play, and bubbles! 

Sept. 16 is National Voter Registration Day!

Teens will learn skills related to our Maker Spaces and equipment, such as sewing, the 3D Printer, and an introduction to basic designs using computer software. This club meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month.

A 15-minute story and song program for newborns to three-year-olds, followed by a 45-minute playtime. 

Join us for Dungeons & Dragons, the world renowned table top role-playing game. Our tables meet weekly for adventure and excitement. Handbooks (2014) and dice are provided.

Join the all-ages meeting of the Cedar Rapids Chess Club from 5:30 to 7:30 pm weekly on Wednesdays at the Downtown Library for a relaxed, casual session playing this great universal game.

Children and caregivers are invited to a story time that is designed for attendees with multi-sensory needs, including low lights, reduced sounds, and opportunities for social interaction and play.

Join us in the Union to play board games and experience online gaming with other teens in a collaborative space. 

You’re invited to make a Tiny Art masterpiece to be displayed at the library and the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art.   

Join us weekly for Tango Práctica (practice), where you will learn the basic steps of tango and grow your skills in an encouraging, welcoming group. No partner required. Smooth-soled shoes recommended. 

Kids are invited to listen to stories about creating art and then make a Tiny Art piece of their own for our Tiny Art Show! Supplies are limited for this event and are available at a first come, first served basis.

Are you socially anxious, introverted, new in town, or just looking for an easy way to meet new people? Join us to play board games and have fun! (Knowing how to play games is not required.)
