Nov. 7, 2024 – November is NaNoWriMo, aka National Novel Writing Month. An idea that began in 1999, NaNoWriMo participants aim to write the 50,000 words for a first draft of a novel in just 30 days.
Both locations will be closed on Sunday, January 19, and Monday, January 20, in recognition of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Sept. 20, 2024 – Banned Books Week is September 22-28, 2024. Established in 1982, Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community in shared support of the freedom to read.
Sept. 16, 2024 – National Hispanic American Heritage Month is September 15 to October 15. Started in 1969 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon B. Johnson, it expended to the 30-day Hispanic Heritage Month in 1988 under President Ronald Reagan.
