If you want to create something for the Tiny Art Show, and you like to do your thing in a social setting, but you’re not a painter, join the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art for two special workshops, on Thursday, Sept. 11, 5-7 pm and Saturday, Sept. 13, 1-3 pm, featuring unconventional materials.
During these open-studio sessions, you can use any materials on hand to create your mini masterpiece from unexpected media. There will be leftover “junk” like puzzle pieces or clay, yarn and beads, and other 3-dimensional stuff. Or bring in a creation you made at home, like embroidery, jewelry, or a tiny photo, and they can help you mount it for display.
Must be preregistered. Ages 16+.
This workshop takes place at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, 410 Third Ave. SE. Contact the Museum at (319) 366-7503 with questions, or visit CRMA.org.
