Fix It Café

Handy library volunteers and local nonprofits will give patrons the opportunity to get hands on practice with DIY home and garden projects. Ask questions of people with years of home repair experience, get lists of materials and tools, and informational resources that will empower you to do minor home repair and garden preparation. 

Participating organizations include:

• Green Iowa AmeriCorps members will demonstrate weatherization techniques.
• Master Gardeners will demonstrate garden tool maintenance, preparing yards and gardens for winter, winter sowing, caring for backyard wildlife, and more.
• Cedar Rapids Library volunteers with years of experience will demonstrate basic repairs for toilet issues and how to patch holes in well loved jeans.
