The Metro Library Network offers a number of ebooks for free download from our websites. Now Overdrive, the company who distributes our ebooks, has created a cheat sheet to make understanding which devices work with our ebooks.

Did you know that the Cedar Rapids Public Library has more than 1,800 ebooks available for download to your personal device? These include more than 1,000 audiobooks! Ebooks are compatible with ebook readers such as the Barnes & Noble Nook and the Sony eReader. And we’re adding more all the time!

When the City Council elected to build the new Cedar Rapids Public Library on the “TrueNorth” block (on the corner of 5th Avenue and 5th Street), they chose a location with a varied past. The more we learn about the block and the history that surrounds it, the easier it will be to design a building that represents the community.
