Cedar Rapids Public Library Seeks Input on Permanent Westside Facility

The Ladd Library is currently in a leased space located at 3750 Williams Blvd SW. In 2020, the Cedar Rapids Public Library Foundation received a significant gift from the estate of Nadine Sandberg which will lead the way toward establishing this permanent location on the city’s west side.

The Library, City of Cedar Rapids, and Linn County are exploring the use of one-time ARPA funds to partially support this project.

Public input is a critical component of the design, and there will be several opportunities throughout this process for community members to weigh in. The Library is starting this process by asking the public to fill out a brief survey on the current Ladd Library and options for the future.

Please click here to access the survey: https://forms.office.com/r/4RXL1wEewf

Please fill out this survey by Friday, October 29, either at the link above or by visiting a library location and filling out a paper form.

A committee consisting of representatives from the City of Cedar Rapids, Linn County, the Cedar Rapids Pubic Library Foundation, Library staff, and the Library Board of Trustees met to review proposals for this project, and after a thorough review process, selected Minneapolis based architectural firm MSR Design to begin Phase 1 of planning.
