Important Update to Library Service

The Metro Library Network will switch to a new library operating system in June. To ensure a smooth transition, we need you to do a few things. Please make sure that the following steps are completed by the beginning of June so that you can continue to check out library materials during the transition. (Learn about possible library service interruptions here.)

Save your library card number. 

Make sure you have your physical library card OR know your account number. You will need your library card number to checkout between June 11-16. Staff will not be able to look up your library card number for you during this transition period.  

The MLN app may not be reliable during the transition, so please make sure you have your card number saved somewhere safe.

Update your account information.

Make sure that we have your correct name, address, phone, and email on file so that we can stay in communication with you. You can update this by calling your library or visiting an open location.

Save your lists. 

If you keep a list of materials in your online account, you can email or print it, or it will be lost. To email or print a list, log into “My Account” and select “My Lists”. Select a list, then use the checkbox next to the Select an Action dropdown to select all items in the list. Alternatively, you may select a subset of items using the individual checkboxes with each item. Then, in “Select an Action”, choose email. You will be prompted for an email address and subject heading. You can use the same process to print a list of items. You can also visit or contact the Library for assistance in preserving your Reading Lists. 

Save your checkout history.  

If you have been saving your checkout history, you can save it with a few easy steps. Visit “My Account” online, go to the “Checkouts” tab and select “Checkout History” from the dropdown. Highlight the text and copy and paste this to a word processing document to print or save. You can also visit or contact the Library for assistance. This information will not carry over to the new system.

  1. How will this impact holds? I have 22 holds that are suspended.

    • Hi, Jamie! Holds which have been pulled and are on the shelves will be available for pickup during the transition period (between June 11-16) but no new holds will be added for availability during that time. So if you haven’t been notified they’re available for you before June 11, they won’t be available until after June 16. Your suspended holds and hold lists should roll over to the new system. Thank you!
