Library Opens for Grab and Go Services

Both locations of the Cedar Rapids Public Library are now open for Grab and Go from the Stacks in addition to curbside holds pickup.

“The Library continues to adjust our service model to provide access in the safest way possible,” said Dara Schmidt, Cedar Rapids Public Library Director. “We are reopening our grab and go services which allows us to provide additional access for patrons, including computer use for up to one hour daily.”

The Downtown Library and the Ladd Library will open their doors for this service Monday – Thursday, 9 am – 8 pm; Friday and Saturday 9 am – 5 pm. Patrons and staff are required to wear a mask when inside the Library. Capacity will be limited and patrons may be asked to wait before entering. Patrons should limit their visit to the Library to 30 minutes or less, or up to one hour for a public computer. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

No contact curbside holds pickup is also available by appointment at both locations. Patrons can make an appointment for curbside holds pickup by visiting our website CRLibrary.org/curbside-holds and selecting a day and time that is available, or call 319.261.READ and staff will assist you.

Library book drops are open and items quarantined for 72 hours before being circulated again. Additional cleaning procedures are in place throughout the facilities, furniture has been removed, and plexiglass barriers have been installed for safety of staff and patrons.

Public computers are available for up to one hour a day and patrons can drop in or make reservations up to four days in advance. Visit CRLibrary.org/computers to make a reservation or call 319.261.READ and staff will assist you.
