Grab and Go Holds Pickup Now Available at Both Locations

The Ladd Library is now open for computer use by appointment and grab and go holds.

Grab and Go Holds are now available 10 am – 7 pm M-TH and 10 am – 4 pm Friday and Saturday. Once notified holds are available, patrons are invited to visit the Library during these hours to pick up their items from the entry way of the Library. Patrons are required to wear a mask and must have their library card or use the virtual card found on the MLN Mobile app to check out materials. Patrons can also key their library card number in by hand.

Due to the disaster response still taking place in the Ladd Library parking lot, curbside holds and drive up returns are currently suspended.

Due dates have been extended until August 31 and items may still be returned at the walk-in drop box at Ladd during Grab and Go hours, at the Downtown Library drive up, the Hiawatha Public Library, and area Hy-Vee drop boxes.

Curbside holds pickup is also currently available by appointment at the Downtown Library. Patrons can make an appointment for curbside holds pickup by visiting our website CRLibrary.org/curbside-holds and selecting a day and time that is available, or call 319.261.READ and staff will assist you.

Public computers are available by reservation up to four days in advance. Visit CRLibrary.org/computers to make a reservation or call 319.261.READ and staff will assist you.

  2. Hi, went in to Ladd library to get holds grab and go but not sure of the process. Holds weren’t where normally at ect. How do I get my holds? Thank you!

    • Hi, Carolyn! We have made some adjustments because of the quantity of holds we have at both locations right now. Holds are on shelves just past the DVDS–but please feel free to ask a staff member for assistance and they’ll point you in the right direction. Once you’ve located your items, you can use the self check at the front of the building. Thank you!

  3. When I look at my account it shows that I have one book ready for pick-up. I usually receive an email also, but have not received that notification. Should I wait to receive the email before making an appointment to pick up the book? Thanks!

    • You should wait until there is a notification before coming in to pick up your holds, so please wait for the email. If you have specific account questions, please feel free to call us at 319.261.7323 and we can always check on a status for you.
