We have missed seeing you in person over the past several weeks. We hope you are staying safe and healthy and have been able to use our Library-at-Home resources including our ebooks, audiobooks, and virtual programs.
As the state begins a reopening process, your library staff is working hard on a phased approach to reopening and providing in-person services. This includes retrofitting our spaces to meet social distancing guidelines, ensuring we have the necessary personal protective equipment, sanitizing supplies, and procedures in place for your protection, and preparing for low and no-contact service models. We are learning from our peers across the state and the country to share best practices and ensure safety for our patrons and our staff.
The Library is working closely with local public health officials and our Metro Library Network partners in Hiawatha and Marion on a careful phased reopening plan to ensure we are following all possible safety procedures and guidelines. It may be a while before our buildings are open again, but we remain committed to providing you with great service. We are pleased to announce contactless curbside pickup will begin soon at Metro Library network locations. Details on hours and procedures will be announced early next week.
While our building remains closed, our Library-at-Home is always open. You can access many and varied resources at www.CRLibrary.org/library-at-home including downloadable eBooks and audiobooks, streaming movies and music, magazines and newspapers, and online learning tools such as Lynda.com and BrainFuse online tutoring.
We have moved our programs for all ages to our social media platforms. Follow us here or on YouTube and stay updated on our online calendar at events.crlibrary.org.
We are glad so many of you are staying connected to us digitally and it is our pleasure to support you. We look forward to welcoming you back to the library and serving you in-person again, when it is safe for us to do so.
