The Innocent by David Baldacci

The Innocent by David Baldacci

David Baldacci’s newest book reminds readers why he has been the king of “conspiracy in high places” thrillers since he wrote Absolute Power in 1996.

The Innocent stars Will Robie, government assassin who stoically follows orders – until he’s ordered to kill a midlevel Washington bureaucrat with two young sons. Something’s off with this assignment, and Robie will not kill an innocent.

Robie realizes his own people have turned and, in true espionage style, walks away using one of his well-planned escape strategies. During a bus ride on his way out of the country, Robie stops the attempted murder of a young teenage girl. The two form a strange alliance as they run for their lives – and Robie discovers that their stories intertwine.

Baldacci is back at the top of his game with his latest thriller: top-notch suspense, characters to cheer for, and, as always, a perfect sense of place.

The Innocent is available in print, large print, digital book and book on CD formats through the Metro Library Network.

  1. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
It sounds like a book I’d like to read. Also seems like a story that would translate into a movie. What do you think?

  2. I think it would make a great movie, but I’d rather see Baldacci’s Camel Club series on film first.
