Students in 6th – 12th grades are invited to participate in Toastmasters Youth Leadership, a 9-week program that gives students the opportunity to practice presentation skills by preparing speeches and giving impromptu speeches.
Participants will also learn leadership skills like evaluating other speeches and chairing a meeting. Sessions include: Introduction to Chairmanship, Introduction to Public Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, Organizing Your Speech, Listening, Gestures in Speaking, and Voice and Vocabulary.
Experienced Toastmasters will coach participants on all aspects of public speaking and leadership. Sessions are 90 minutes to 2 hours, Monday evenings: June 4, 11, 18, 25 and July 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. Snacks will be provided.
