The staff who work at the Cedar Rapids Public Library are passionate advocates for literacy and lifelong learning. Each day, hundreds of people visit the Library and use the resources available to assist them with finding a job, researching a school project, or accessing the latest materials. Library staff work hard every day to provide the public with assistance to meet all of their unique needs.
The staff develops relationships with Library visitors and care about their success. That’s why we are asking you to share your Library success stories with us.
Has the Library helped you in some way? Did you find a job after using the Library’s resources (computers, internet access, resume help)? Did you learn a new language using a free online database like Mango Languages? Did you bring your little one to Toddler Time and Story Time and help nurture a love of reading and prepare them for school? Did your hesitant reader attend a Reading with Therapy Dogs session and grow from the experience? Did you make new friends at a Library event who have become a part of your life? Was a Library staff member uniquely helpful to you in a time of need?
Sharing your stories with us allows us to remind our community of the importance of libraries and the value we provide. These stories are impactful, emotional and most people can relate to them. By sharing your story, we will be able to further the Library’s mission to be passionate advocates for literacy and lifelong learning.
We encourage you to post your story here, or send a message to mussmana(at)crlibrary.org. Thank you for sharing!
