Meeting Rooms
The library has four meeting rooms and an auditorium available for public use. Six study rooms are available on a reserve or walk-in basis. To reserve a room, please call (319) 398-5123 and press option #3.

Room A will accommodate up to 10 people. Rooms B and C will accommodate 6 people. Room D will accommodate 12 people. Each room can be reserved up to two weeks in advance or on a walk-in basis. Rooms are available from the time the library opens until approximately ten minutes before the Library closes. There is no time limit for room usage. Patrons requesting a meeting room should go to the Information Desk to check out a meeting room key. A valid Metro Library Network library card is needed to check out a key. Non-resident patrons will need a driver's license or other valid form of identification.

Beems Auditorium has a 150-person maximum seating capacity and a 250-person room capacity. There are adjoining restrooms and a ramped emergency exit accessible to the handicapped. The kitchenette, which includes a refrigerator and microwave, can be used for serving light refreshments (coffee, rolls, etc.). Other features include dual entrances, coatrooms, flexible room lighting, large screen for video, film, slide, and data projector viewing, public address system, folding tables, and a piano. Some rental equipment is available for use in the auditorium. Beems Auditorium can be reserved through the library’s Programming Department: call 319-398-5123, option #2. Study Rooms
There are six study rooms available for public use. Each room will accommodate up to two people. Each room can be reserved up to two weeks in advance or on a walk-in basis. Rooms are available from the time the library opens until approximately ten minutes before the Library closes. There is no time limit for room usage. Patrons requesting a meeting room should go to the Information Desk to check out a study room key. A valid Metro Library Network library card is needed to check out a room key. Non-resident patrons will need a driver's license or other valid form of identification. Wireless internet is also available in each room. There is no wireless signal in Beems Auditorium or Study Room D.
