The Library offers computer access to the public. Computer access is available at the Library Technology Center at Westdale Mall and at the Downtown Location.

The Library provides access for:

1. Searching the Library's catalog
2. Finding information on the internet
3. Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
4. Wireless internet connectivity

Catalog Access
All of the Library's computers have access to the catalog. There are computers throughout the library for catalog use only. There is no time limit on the 'catalog only' computers. Catalog access is available at Westdale Mall as well as from your home or office.

Internet Access
The Library provides free access to the internet. The Library limits internet usage to (2) sessions each day. To access the internet users must have a valid library card and personal identification number (PIN). If a patron does not have a PIN, the patron can go to any service desk to have a PIN added to their account. Patrons with fines of $3 or more will not be allowed internet access until the patron's balance is less than $3. Internet access is available at the Library Technology Center at Westdale Mall and at the Downtown location. Patrons must also agree to the Cedar Rapids Public Library Computer Access policy before they can have access to the Internet.

Office Applications
Microsoft Word XP, Excel XP and PowerPoint XP are available on the computers at the Library Technology Center and at the Downtown location.

Printing
Patrons can print from any of the public computers. The Library charges $0.10 for black-and-white pages.

Wireless Internet Access
Wireless internet access is available at the Library Technology Center at Westdale Mall for patrons with a laptop and wireless card. Click here for information about our wireless internet access.
