Fines

The library will charge fines on materials that are returned late or damaged and bill the replacement/processing cost, including any charges resulting from third party intervention, to cardholders responsible for the materials. Cardholders will also be billed for lost materials that were checked out with their cards.

Fees

The library is committed to providing basic services—such as access to facilities, in-house use and loan of library materials, bibliographies, interlibrary loan, and basic information/reference services—at no cost to cardholders. In order to help defray the cost of services that extend beyond those considered basic, fees will be charged for such things as photocopies of printed or filmed materials, computer database searches, and the use of Beems Auditorium. The library also reserves the right to charge fees for specialized information services developed to meet a specific need and for the use of the library database by other institutions or individuals.
