Policy 3.01 - Public Relations
The board of trustees recognizes the need to communicate effectively with the citizens they serve and the community in general. It is the policy of the board of trustees that the community relations effort remain centralized. The official spokesperson for the library administration shall be the director of the library, who shall have primary responsibility for public speaking engagements, media interviews, and appearances concerning library operations. Members of the administrative staff who are department heads may, with the director's knowledge and approval, act as spokespersons in public speaking engagements, media interviews and appearances for the following purposes:
All requests from the public or the media for interviews, speaking engagements, or appearances will be cleared through the library director. Printed materials, including news releases, will receive prior approval from the library director before submission to the media.
