If a person's fines reach $3.00, various privileges including borrowing of materials, use of items within the library, and use of iBistro are suspended.

A courtesy reminder is made three times after items are due. If fines are not paid or materials not returned, patron's accounts may be turned over to a collection agency. If an account is referred to a collection agency, there is an additional $10.00 collection fee.

The Code of Iowa Section 714.5 considers materials kept longer than two months prima facie evidence of 'intent to deprive'.
